The idea of using ‘shipping containers’ for houses has been around for several years, the units are designed to be transported and meet the design requirements that go along with being shipped by road, rail and sea. By taking advantage of their intended design purpose to carry the components to construct a house and using these components to extend the living area we have a good base for a transportable, Eco-friendly, low cost, structurally sound building.
